Join us to smell and taste the sweet bread, the coffee, and the food (tapas),
those are the most typical gastronomic goods elaborated locally at the white town
of America, as Comala was named since 1962, when most of the facades of its houses
were whitewashed. Learn about ponche, and then taste it, it is an alcoholic drink
elaborated locally with some fruits, water, sugar and alcohol, red wine or mescal.
We will visit a bakery, a coffee factory, a ponche factory and a restaurant.
If you are fond of literature, we could talk about Juan Rulfo a famous Mexican novel
writer, who was the author of Pedro Paramo, a novel, printed in 1955 that tells a history
that took place in a ghost town named Comala. Because of that novel that has been
translated to more of 40 different languages, readers from several parts of Mexico
and other countries have read about a town named Comala, and a few of them have felt
the desire to come to visit it.
